WESTERN HILLS

field day

Friday, May 17 | 9 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

Western Hills Elementary is celebrating Field Day on Friday, May 17. Field Day used to be the most dreaded day of the year for Western Hills faculty and staff, then St. Andrew’s members showed up. They are so appreciative of the church’s service to the school on a day that is now the most joyful day of the year. Our service to the faculty, staff and students at Western Hills Elementary makes a difference! If you are able to help, please contact Rachel Hunt.

pentecost sunday

Sunday, May 19

Wear Red & Eat Donuts

Wear red on May 19 to celebrate Pentecost Sunday—the day we remember and celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit to the church. We’ll have red donut holes in the Narthex to celebrate.

Chorus of Voices Reading

Every year on Pentecost Sunday, during the reading of the Acts 2 passage, we invite anyone who speaks a language other than English to join us as a part of the ”chorus of voices”—a real-time reading of scripture in many languages at once. This serves as a powerful reminder of the mighty miracle that God worked on that day and of the ways that God is still at work in all the world. If you are multilingual and would like to participate, please email Dustin Freeman and he will get you more information.

confirmation sunday

Sunday, June 2

On Sunday, June 2, our very own Bishop Robert Cook will celebrate his first confirmation at St. Andrew’s. If you are currently in the Newcomers’ Class or have completed it in the past and would like to be confirmed, please contact Jessie Smith no later than Tuesday, May 28. If you are not able to take part in this confirmation, don’t worry! We plan to have confirmation again in the fall.
