Man Camp

April 4-6

Men, join us at Young Life’s Clearwater Cove for a weekend full of adventure, laughter, thought provoking conversations and relaxation. The setting is a first-class, resort-like camp on the shores of Table Rock Lake in the Ozark Mountains. You can expect great food, humor, inspiration and, of course, a few surprises. Our speaker for the weekend is 30-year Young Life Staff veteran, Kent Williams. Cost is $205/person, but scholarships are available by contacting the church office. Register here.

Confirmation

April 6

On Sunday, April 6, we will celebrate  confirmation at St. Andrew’s. If you are currently in the Newcomers’ Class or have completed it in the past and would like to be confirmed, please contact Jessie no later than Tuesday, April 1.

HOLY WEEK

Palm Sunday

April 13 | 8:45 & 11 a.m.

The congregation participates as part of the initial procession, beginning in the south parking lot and processing through the Garth and into the Sanctuary, recalling Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem. In place of our normal lectionary readings and Gospel procession, the congregation participates in the reenactment of Jesus’ betrayal, trials and crucifixion through a corporate reading of selected portions of the Gospel of Luke. There are no Sunday school classes between the services for children or adults on Palm Sunday.

For the kids

Toddlers and preschoolers are invited to take part in the processional with their families and can be dropped off at class just before entering the sanctuary. All children are invited to visit the donkey with their parents in the Garth between services.

Maundy Thursday

April 17 | 7 p.m.

On Maundy Thursday, or Commandment Thursday, we celebrate Holy Communion, participate in a reenactment of the foot washing of Jesus and conclude with the stripping of the altar, which is a startling visual representation of what the world would be without Christ.

For the kids

There is no child care available for this service.

Good Friday

April 18 | noon

Through Stations of the Cross meditations, we will prayerfully enter the darkness of Christ’s death and burial in order to share in the joy of his resurrection.

During the noon service, kindergartners through fifth-graders will check in to the downstairs classrooms.

For the kids

Lunch will be served, and children will take part in their version of the Stations of the Cross. Toddlers and preschoolers will have lunch together and learn about Jesus’ time on the cross.

In order to plan for food, please register your child(ren) via the button below by Tuesday, April 15.

Easter Egg Hunt

April 19 | 10:30/10:45 a.m.

Families with children up through pre-K4 should meet Ms. Jennifer in the Garth at 10:30 a.m.; those with children in kindergarten through fourth grade should meet Ms. Kate on the playground at 10:45 a.m.

Please bring two dozen egg filled with individually wrapped candy by Good Friday. They may be dropped off in the front office.

Easter Sunday

April 20 | 7:30, 9 & 11 a.m.

Holy Week culminates with the grand celebration of Christ’s resurrection and saving grace on Easter morning! In order to have space for family, guests and those looking for a place to worship on Easter, we will have three services on Sunday.

The traditional service will be at 7:30 a.m. and will have no children’s or early childhood classes during the service.

Both the 9 and 11 a.m. services will be contemporary services. Children’s and early childhood classes will take place like a normal Sunday.

There are no classes between services for children or adults on Easter Sunday.

For the kids

Children will take part in the “flowering of the cross” at the beginning of each service. Flowers will be provided, but you are welcome to bring flowers from your garden as well. Toddlers and preschoolers are invited to participate in the flowering of the cross and then proceed to class to learn about Christ’s resurrection. Children’s and early childhood classes will take place during the 9 & 11 a.m. service.
