Psalm 8

1 Lord, our Lord,     how majestic is your name in all the earth!     You have set your glory above the heavens. 2 Out of the mouth of babies and infants,     you have established strength because of your foes,     to still the enemy and the avenger. 3 When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers,     the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, 4 what is man that you are mindful of him,     and the son of man that you care for him? 5 Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings     and crowned him with glory and honor. 6 You have given him dominion over the works of your hands;     you have put all things under his feet, 7 all sheep and oxen,     and also the beasts of the field, 8 the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea,     whatever passes along the paths of the seas. 9 Lord, our Lord,     how majestic is your name in all the earth!

Psalm 24

1 The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof,     the world and those who dwell therein, 2 for he has founded it upon the seas     and established it upon the rivers. 3 Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord?     And who shall stand in his holy place? 4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart,     who does not lift up his soul to what is false     and does not swear deceitfully. 5 He will receive blessing from the Lord     and righteousness from the God of his salvation. 6 Such is the generation of those who seek him,     who seek the face of the God of Jacob. Selah 7 Lift up your heads, O gates!     And be lifted up, O ancient doors,     that the King of glory may come in. 8 Who is this King of glory?     The Lord, strong and mighty,     the Lord, mighty in battle! 9 Lift up your heads, O gates!     And lift them up, O ancient doors,     that the King of glory may come in. 10 Who is this King of glory?     The Lord of hosts,     he is the King of glory! Selah

Psalm 29

1 Ascribe to the Lord, O heavenly beings,     ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. 2 Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name;     worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness. 3 The voice of the Lord is over the waters;     the God of glory thunders,     the Lord, over many waters. 4 The voice of the Lord is powerful;     the voice of the Lord is full of majesty. 5 The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars;     the Lord breaks the cedars of Lebanon. 6 He makes Lebanon to skip like a calf,     and Sirion like a young wild ox. 7 The voice of the Lord flashes forth flames of fire. 8 The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness;     the Lord shakes the wilderness of Kadesh. 9 The voice of the Lord makes the deer give birth     and strips the forests bare,     and in his temple all cry, “Glory!” 10 The Lord sits enthroned over the flood;     the Lord sits enthroned as king forever. 11 May the Lord give strength to his people!     May the Lord bless his people with peace!

Psalm 84

1 How lovely is your dwelling place,     Lord of hosts! 2 My soul longs, yes, faints     for the courts of the Lord;     my heart and flesh sing for joy     to the living God. 3 Even the sparrow finds a home,     and the swallow a nest for herself,     where she may lay her young,     at your altars, O Lord of hosts,     my King and my God. 4 Blessed are those who dwell in your house,     ever singing your praise! Selah 5 Blessed are those whose strength is in you,     in whose heart are the highways to Zion. 6 As they go through the Valley of Baca     they make it a place of springs;     the early rain also covers it with pools. 7 They go from strength to strength;     each one appears before God in Zion. 8 Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer;     give ear, O God of Jacob! Selah 9 Behold our shield, O God;     look on the face of your anointed! 10 For a day in your courts is better     than a thousand elsewhere.     I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God     than dwell in the tents of wickedness. 11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield;     the Lord bestows favor and honor.     No good thing does he withhold     from those who walk uprightly. 12 Lord of hosts,     blessed is the one who trusts in you!

Isaiah 42:1-12

1 Behold my servant, whom I uphold,     my chosen, in whom my soul delights;     I have put my Spirit upon him;     he will bring forth justice to the nations. 2 He will not cry aloud or lift up his voice,     or make it heard in the street; 3 a bruised reed he will not break,     and a faintly burning wick he will not quench;     he will faithfully bring forth justice. 4 He will not grow faint or be discouraged     till he has established justice in the earth;     and the coastlands wait for his law. 5 Thus says God, the Lord,     who created the heavens and stretched them out,     who spread out the earth and what comes from it,     who gives breath to the people on it     and spirit to those who walk in it: 6 “I am the Lord; I have called you in righteousness;     I will take you by the hand and keep you;     I will give you as a covenant for the people,     a light for the nations, 7 to open the eyes that are blind,     to bring out the prisoners from the dungeon,     from the prison those who sit in darkness. 8 I am the Lord; that is my name;     my glory I give to no other,     nor my praise to carved idols. 9 Behold, the former things have come to pass,     and new things I now declare;     before they spring forth     I tell you of them.” 10 Sing to the Lord a new song,     his praise from the end of the earth,     you who go down to the sea, and all that fills it,     the coastlands and their inhabitants. 11 Let the desert and its cities lift up their voice,     the villages that Kedar inhabits;     let the habitants of Sela sing for joy,     let them shout from the top of the mountains. 12 Let them give glory to the Lord,     and declare his praise in the coastlands.

Ephesians 6:10-20

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. 14 Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. 16 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; 17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, 18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, 19 and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.

John 3:16-21

16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. 19 And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. 20 For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. 21 But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.”
