Psalm 66

1 Shout for joy to God, all the earth; 2 sing the glory of his name;     give to him glorious praise! 3 Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds!     So great is your power that your enemies come cringing to you. 4 All the earth worships you     and sings praises to you;     they sing praises to your name.” Selah 5 Come and see what God has done:     he is awesome in his deeds toward the children of man. 6 He turned the sea into dry land;     they passed through the river on foot.     There did we rejoice in him, 7 who rules by his might forever,     whose eyes keep watch on the nations—     let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah 8 Bless our God, O peoples;     let the sound of his praise be heard, 9 who has kept our soul among the living     and has not let our feet slip. 10 For you, O God, have tested us;     you have tried us as silver is tried. 11 You brought us into the net;     you laid a crushing burden on our backs; 12 you let men ride over our heads;     we went through fire and through water;     yet you have brought us out to a place of abundance. 13 I will come into your house with burnt offerings;     I will perform my vows to you, 14 that which my lips uttered     and my mouth promised when I was in trouble. 15 I will offer to you burnt offerings of fattened animals,     with the smoke of the sacrifice of rams;     I will make an offering of bulls and goats. Selah 16 Come and hear, all you who fear God,     and I will tell what he has done for my soul. 17 I cried to him with my mouth,     and high praise was on my tongue. 18 If I had cherished iniquity in my heart,     the Lord would not have listened. 19 But truly God has listened;     he has attended to the voice of my prayer. 20 Blessed be God,     because he has not rejected my prayer     or removed his steadfast love from me!

Psalm 93

1 The Lord reigns; he is robed in majesty;     the Lord is robed; he has put on strength as his belt.     Yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved. 2 Your throne is established from of old;     you are from everlasting. 3 The floods have lifted up, O Lord,     the floods have lifted up their voice;     the floods lift up their roaring. 4 Mightier than the thunders of many waters,     mightier than the waves of the sea,     the Lord on high is mighty! 5 Your decrees are very trustworthy;     holiness befits your house,     Lord, forevermore.

Psalm 98

1 Oh sing to the Lord a new song,     for he has done marvelous things!     His right hand and his holy arm     have worked salvation for him. 2 The Lord has made known his salvation;     he has revealed his righteousness in the sight of the nations. 3 He has remembered his steadfast love and faithfulness     to the house of Israel.     All the ends of the earth have seen     the salvation of our God. 4 Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth;     break forth into joyous song and sing praises! 5 Sing praises to the Lord with the lyre,     with the lyre and the sound of melody! 6 With trumpets and the sound of the horn     make a joyful noise before the King, the Lord! 7 Let the sea roar, and all that fills it;     the world and those who dwell in it! 8 Let the rivers clap their hands;     let the hills sing for joy together 9 before the Lord, for he comes     to judge the earth.     He will judge the world with righteousness,     and the peoples with equity.

Jonah 2:1-9

1 Then Jonah prayed to the Lord his God from the belly of the fish, 2 saying,     “I called out to the Lord, out of my distress,     and he answered me;     out of the belly of Sheol I cried,     and you heard my voice. 3 For you cast me into the deep,     into the heart of the seas,     and the flood surrounded me;     all your waves and your billows     passed over me. 4 Then I said, ‘I am driven away     from your sight;     yet I shall again look     upon your holy temple.’ 5 The waters closed in over me to take my life;     the deep surrounded me;     weeds were wrapped about my head 6 at the roots of the mountains.     I went down to the land     whose bars closed upon me forever;     yet you brought up my life from the pit,     Lord my God. 7 When my life was fainting away,     I remembered the Lord,     and my prayer came to you,     into your holy temple. 8 Those who pay regard to vain idols     forsake their hope of steadfast love. 9 But I with the voice of thanksgiving     will sacrifice to you;     what I have vowed I will pay.     Salvation belongs to the Lord!”

Acts 2:14, 22-32

14 But Peter, standing with the eleven, lifted up his voice and addressed them: “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and give ear to my words ... 22 “Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with mighty works and wonders and signs that God did through him in your midst, as you yourselves know— 23 this Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men. 24 God raised him up, loosing the pangs of death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it. 25 For David says concerning him,     “‘I saw the Lord always before me,     for he is at my right hand that I may not be shaken; 26 therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced;     my flesh also will dwell in hope. 27 For you will not abandon my soul to Hades,     or let your Holy One see corruption. 28 You have made known to me the paths of life;     you will make me full of gladness with your presence.’ 29 “Brothers, I may say to you with confidence about the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. 30 Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that he would set one of his descendants on his throne, 31 he foresaw and spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that he was not abandoned to Hades, nor did his flesh see corruption. 32 This Jesus God raised up, and of that we all are witnesses.

John 14:1-14

1 “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. 4 And you know the way to where I am going.” 5 Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?” 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.” 8 Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.” 9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works. 11 Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else believe on account of the works themselves. 12 “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. 13 Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask meanything in my name, I will do it.
