ABOUT US

Welcome to St. Andrew’s!

St. Andrew’s is a community of God’s grace and healing. We recognize that we live in a world that is broken and that our lives are broken. Jesus came to bring his kingdom among us to renew and restore our lives and the whole of creation to himself.

Maybe you have never been to church before. Maybe you’ve been hurt by the church and you’re ready to give God and his people a second chance or third chance. Maybe you’re just ready to take your faith to the next level and resonate with who we are. No matter where you are in your spiritual life and relationship with God, you’re welcome here!

Our Identity

We are a community of God’s Grace and Healing

Our MISSION

The Mission of St. Andrew’s Church is to extend God’s transforming love and grace by being disciples making disciples.

Our BELIEFS

St. Andrew’s is passionate about the Father’s radical love for the world.

We embrace Jesus Christ as the one true savior.

We are anchored in the Bible as the authoritative and unchanging word of God.

We submit to the Anglican 39 Articles, the Apostles Creed and the Nicene Creed as our statements of the Christian faith.

As Christians, we believe that we are nourished by living an integrated life of three streams: scripture, spirit and sacrament.

  • Scripture – highlights our adherence to the evangelical stream which upholds the Bible as God’s inspired word that contains all things necessary for salvation and serves as our authoritative guide for faith and life.
  • Spirit – we believe the Holy Spirit operates today as he has done throughout history, administering the fullness of God in and through the church today.
  • Sacrament – living a sacramental life underscores our belief in the ongoing importance of the one, true, holy, historic and world-wide Christian faith by incorporating the liturgical rhythms of our worship into our everyday lives.

Our History

For St. Andrew’s, the story began in February 1996 when 15 lay people began to share with one another that they thought God wanted them to start a new church. None of these people had ever been involved in such a project, but the experience of a common call was so unusual that they committed to a period of reflection and prayer.

WORSHIP at St. Andrew’s

In a culture of changing styles and fading fads, Sunday worship at St. Andrew’s is anchored in the tried and true foundations of Christian faith and practice. Worship at St. Andrew’s provides a weekly encounter with God through Scripture, Spirit and Sacrament—blending the best of the evangelical, charismatic and liturgical aspects of the Christian faith. It is biblical and relevant, joyful and reverent, rooted and dynamic.

Anglicanism

Anglican Christianity is rooted in the ancient faith and practice of the first century church, tracing its history through missionaries to the British Isles and the development of Celtic christianity early in the first millenium A.D.

Anglicanism upholds the authority of Scripture, is guided by Apostolic Tradition and is instructed by the English Reformation. Its essential statement of faith is expressed in both the Nicene and Apostles Creeds. It has received the English Book of Common Prayer, originally published in 1549, as its beautiful liturgical worship resource.

Driven by a missionary focus Anglican Christianity has been about the work of making disciples for centuries and has expanded into a global church.

Church Planting

As a church, we are committed to living into the calling that Jesus has given us. “And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.’” (Matt. 28:18-20)

We have been given the charge to go into the communities where we live to be the hands and feet of Jesus, and to speak of his life-giving mercy and grace. It is about following Jesus into the places where he has called us to foster culture and live radically. As we go, we do so with eyes to see the work God is doing among us, and out of this work, the Lord will show us areas where a church plant can reach and disciple more and more people for Christ.

Over the coming years, St. Andrew’s will continue to plan and prepare, looking to the Lord in eager expectation as he establishes many more churches that are rooted in the rich soil of the Anglican tradition and nourished by the three life-giving streams of Scripture, Spirit and Sacrament.
